My friend Josh Gillespie (brilliant political strategist, btw. Check out Gillespie Total Strategies) wrote on his blog "Josh in the Box" a post entitled:
"Julia Carson is the Biggest Loser"
The obvious point that we already knew that aside, his point was regarding Julia's fund raising, or in this case, lack thereof:
Tell us something we don't know! At least the national political media is picking up on it. In Politico.com's latest Hound Round 2 Roundup, they have picked the Second Quarter's winners and losers in fundraising for the next election cycle. Where does the esteemed Congresswoman from Indiana's 7th District reside? She claims the top spot earning "the biggest loser" title in the Second Quarter raising a measly $3,500. __________________________________________________________________According to a little birdie, expect two things two happen by next July:The Losers:
1. Rep. Julia Carson (D-Ind.)
Carson didn’t raise any money from individual donors at all this quarter, only taking a $3,500 contribution from two political action committees. She has only $141,704 in her campaign account.
Carson, who has faced chronic health problems over the last several years, has never been a big-time fundraiser. But she only won with 54 percent of the vote against an underfunded challenger last year. Republicans have not yet recruited in the district.
“If you look historically, she doesn’t do a lot of fundraising in the first two quarters [of the cycle],” said Carson spokesman Chad Chitwood.
1) Julia will announce her retirement (or frankly, die. And no, that isn't a wish, so no need to send the Feds to my doorstep).
2) Eric Dickerson will announce he is re-running (I expect his announcement before then).
I've long believed that Julia will anoint her Grandson Andre (no, not the rapist. That one was a nephew, as I recall, though keeping up with crime in the Carson family can almost be a full time occupation itself), allegedly an officer with the Indiana Department of Homeland Security (if that's truly the case, why does he need his own friggin' website?), but whose full time occupation appears to be to take care of Grandma. Of course, since I've only been blogging for a few months there's no record to prove it, but when I started working in the old 10th CG close to 20 years ago (and she was CT Trustee, and Andy Jacobs' lapdog), I was making that prediction then. It was that obvious.
Of course, the residents of the 7th have gone without representation for quite some time now, and considering how many of those voters are dead, illegal aliens, or homeless anyway, will they even notice if she's gone?
P.S. I just love parenthesis, don't you?
